"Travelling overland by jeep is by far the best way to see Ethiopia, and we had a fantastic trip with Sharyem tours. From the moment our driver met us in Addis, we were well looked after and quickly became friends. Taking a car meant that we had the freedom stop where and when we liked, and enjoy the spectacular scenery and chance encounters of our route North, to Lalibela and the Simien Mountains. Given that we only had 3 weeks in the country, and lots we wanted to see, this was the best option: quicker and more flexible than the bus, but much more immersive (and eco-friendly) than flying."
